Project: Housing, Employment and Training
We will be providing support and services to underprivileged Veterans and their families, by providing housing, job skills training, and clothing. The Veteran Affair’s do not support Veterans and their families with basic healthcare. The VA will serve a veteran for basic service related injuries and PTSD. Part of our mission is to serve the Veteran and family members with medical, dental, and visual coverage as employees. Our programs are designed to work with the Veteran and family members of deceased Veterans with transitional apprenticeship retraining and hands on job skills in a career which is a real world position.
Our programs are designed to improve the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of Veterans and their family members. Through long standing with housing, long term employment (with realistic career training), social services to include social, emotional, PTSD, drug, and alcohol counseling for all Veterans and family members. We honor our elders and forefathers, our current veterans, and those who will come to take our nation into the future. Veteran's Recreation & Rehabilitation Center's mission is to provide support and services to underprivileged Veterans and their families by providing housing, job skills training, behavioral/mental health counseling services and recreational activities to reinvigorate the economy of the local and surrounding communities.
By supporting Veteran's Recreation & Rehabilitation Center, you will help us provide services which can and will reduce Veteran suicides. At the present time, many Veterans have little support and services which address the Veteran suicide. One of the major problems is a lack of support services with government cutbacks and sequestration. Another major problem is our Veterans have a lack of self-worth and preventative measures with today's economy. Veteran's Recreation & Rehabilitation Center not only will provide the services our Veterans need; we will be able to build self-worth by job training, a community of Veterans for support, and support community development by reducing Homelessness.
Veterans Recreation & Rehabilitation Center was created and is operated by Veterans who desire to provide activities and support services that would cater to the specific needs of other Veterans, not unlike themselves. Having already suffered in their shoes, Veterans Recreation Rehabilitation Center knows the stress and struggles of being discharged from services and trying to find work in a world that has drastically changed in their absence. Those, whom have lost a limb, have suffered even further and will be in need of specially designed training to get them in a new career.
Veterans Recreation Rehabilitation Center supports Veterans and their families, with opportunities to do things they may or may not have the chance to do independently. With support services and personnel on staff year-round, this facility can offer Veterans a chance not only for employment opportunities, but also recreation and a chance to rebuild and restore their lives. Physicians, Health Care Facilities, have researched how recreational rehabilitation helps reduce stress, equestrian therapy has proven to be very successful in and mimics the human walking motion for the physically challenged, aqua therapy and recreation has less stress on the body with more cardiovascular benefits, Outdoor recreation is therapeutic for all members of the family to be away from the noise and stress of city life.
The rehabilitation plan will specify an employment and independent living goal, identify intermediate goals, and outline services and resources that will provide to assist the Veteran to achieve his/her goals. The Veteran will work together to implement a personal plan to assist the Veteran to achieve his or her employment and independent living goals.
Veterans Recreation & Rehabilitation Center is accepting donations of working vehicles and boats for our veteran Outreach Program. We received a Hoyer Lift to assist veterans in wheelchairs, in and out of boats. We have some boat owners who have volunteered to take our veterans fishing. Having access to our own boat will allow us to schedule fishing trip on a daily to weekly basis. All of these veterans are pre 911 veterans who do not qualify for fishing trips with the majority of organizations. We proudly serve all era of veterans. At the present time, we have 27 veterans in wheelchairs who would like to go fishing with their children, but do not have the access or ability to transfer into a boat. With your assistance, we can and will support these veterans.
